Re: How many of you

When I retired I had a goal of shooting once a week. The reality is that I make it about once every two weeks. My range is 30 miles away and open 5 days a week. Add in fishing, family obligations, work around the house etc... I think it's working out fine.

Re: I've been using strips for my revolvers for years .....

Uh, no. A $30.00 solution to an insignificant problem. When I carry a revolver the speedstrip goes in the watch pocket. Easy access. On the rare occasion I'm not wearing jeans I haven't had a problem locating the strip in the bottom of the pocket.

Re: Your choice of carry gun?

Currently a Ruger 1911 LWT CMD in .45 or a S&W 642. I've been in the selection process for an in between gun and I'm about to buy a S&W Shield that will probably become my primary CCW.

Re: Are Benchmade Knives Worth The Price?

Are they worth the price? Compared to less expensive knives? Well yes, sorta IMO. I have a Benchmade 710 that I carried for 20 years of my LEO career. Liked the Axis lock but the blade was difficult to get a good edge on (I do my own sharpening). I have a mini-griptilian that's my EDC also with the ...

Re: A new respect for Navy vets

My dad served in WWII in the pacific theater. He told me that there were two stages of sea sickness. In the first stage you thought that you were going to die. In the second stage you were afraid that you wouldn't.

Re: Life Skills: "How To Speak to Women"

Oh I've learned the right words and have even said them a few times:

"Yes Dear, You're right, I'm wrong, I'm sorry"

My problem is I haven't learned to say them in a manner that sounds sincere.....

Re: Louis Lamour Westerns - Your favorites

I became a L'Amour fan when I was 15 (46 years ago) Aside from some improbable shooting feats I still like and re-read his books and have all but 14 of the "leatherette" volumes. My clear favorite is "The Daybreakers" for a second choice you may try one of the volumes of short st...
