Re: 350 legend...
Not really a "brand new" cartridge at all. Was introduced by Winchester at the 2019 Shot Show to address a perceived problem of straight-wall-cartridge-compliant deer-hunting states requirements. Yes, a 45-70 would fit the bill but why knock yourself around when something with the ballisti...

Better yet; wouldn't it be easier to copy the CD, with due regard to any copyright issue which may (still) exist?

Re: the Metric System
Yeah since organic chemistry involved measuring weight in grams and milligrams and kilograms, and volume in milliliters and liters, and length in meters, centimeters, millimeters, and microns, it all got easy to visualize, plus the math is so easy since it is just moving decimal points. It’s kind o...

This question has been asked many times in the past. Any time that I have been involved in said discussion I have posed this observation as a response. I drive a four cylinder vehicle that comfortably cruises at the open highway speed limit while spinning at around 2,000 rpm. I hope my math is corre...

Re: Reciever sight for a Browning 1895 .30-06
I'm thinking about taking my Browning 1895 out of the box and shooting it. I was also thinking about a reciever sight like on some of the older 95s I have seen. One of them mounts to the side and has a small lever to make adjustments for elevation and it seems to be pretty sturdy. Anyone have any s...

Re: quickload pressure estimates
My version of QuickLOAD is V3.9. It lists Hodgdon CFE223 in its database. Using your "load", the 20" barrel has a muzzle pressure of 12Bar/176psi, and the 24" barrel 10Bar/146psi, with selected bullet Sierra JHP 8125. Is that something like you are looking for? Seems to indicate ...

Re: Ruger No. 1 A.S.S.R.A
I think that for a somewhat unique action, I would first decide what use it is going to be put to. 303Br ? Well, no. Ruger actually made a line in that useful old British (and Empire) service round. So, been there, done that. I have one :D And another in 45-70Govt :) Accuracy problems are usually co...

QuickLoad shows nice safe loads with 9-10 gr Unique as posted above. I downloaded the ADI Powders chart. Thanks, Madmucus! QuickLoad lists these powders but I was totally unfamiliar with them. Please note that ADI makes a great many of the powders that Hodgdon market. Some of them will be direct eq...

When I purchasing my new/used 870 I was looking for a case to store it in at home. I dont have the money for a huge refrigerator safe, im waiting till I own a house for that one. Not specifically a dash-cam, but a Garmin GPS with built in camera. Excellent quality video. I know that because I made the "mistake" of connecting it to an "always on" power socket in my SUV, and recorded a continuous 7 hrs of road trip! I always use the maximum capacity memory ...

Agreed that the OPs link goes back a while, but the insurance businesses continue their attack on firearms/owners/users. The anti-firearm attitude of some insurance company's is nothing new, which you can see from OP's link. Here is something else to consider: - https://kiwigunblog.wordpress.com/201...

Re: Cartridge Case Annealer
Started with a Ken Light unit - 2x gas burners. OK, but now use an A.M.P. induction unit. I feed it manually but there is an auto-feed available. Very fast, and programmed for pretty much any cartridge case. If that wasn't good enough, it's also able to calibrate for your cases. Worth checking out -...

I have a feeling that the variety which you attach to your firearm, and pay a tax for, will be a suppressor. The other type, of all sorts of shape and size, which you shoot through might best be called a "sound moderator". On the topic of moderators, I saw one, a long time ago, that was ma...

Re: 1" at 1000- did I read that right?
I have an old (2010) Nightforce scope catalogue that shows a group of 2.815" at 1000 yds. Best 5 of those probably would have been around the 1" mark.
Wasn't just shooting for group but for score; 100-4x.
I'm sure that a better record has been set by now.
