Re: Maybe a Good SCOTUS pick....

Trump could nominate Pelosi and the liberals would still protest.

Personally I was hoping he was nominate Ivanka. That would make 'em scream!

Re: Inherent or designed-in action smoothness?

On the contrary.. I have found Marlin 336s, at least those made in the 1960s (I have owned several), to be far smoother than the post-64 Winchester 94s. Far smoother.

Re: CCW ''good Samaritan' shot by cops...

You need to read what John Farnam has to say about this. It's in his Quips.

http://defense-training.com/quips/

Short version... don't interfere in other people's business and keep your gun secure on yourself so it does not drop out on the ground.

Re: Finally, The Alaskan Camper Was Delivered

Very nice, are you taking off for Alaska soon ? That's probably where I would be headed. I'd be a felon the second I crossed into Canada....I wonder if I can bypass Canadian gun laws if I take a ferry? Go to Seattle and take the Alaskan ferry right to Alaska. Bypass Canada that way. http://www.dot....

Re: 300 Win Mag vs 338 Win Mag

I've killed white tail deer with both .338 and .300 WM (as well as .223, .243, 30/30, .308, 30-06.) Yes it kills them dead... small wonder. Anyway the .300 does not kick as much and shoots a bit flatter but the .338 fires a much heavier bullet. The .338 is not a .338 Laupa and I'd prefer the .300 fo...

Re: New show "Yellowstone"

100% agree about them using the F word so much. We have turned off shows that just had cussing ever other sentence. I saw the first episode of 'Yellowstone' and I could see it was just gonna be a drama show with a bunch of 'save the whales' stuff. If you want a good series go see the old Longmire se...

Re: Rossi .44 Magnum carbine (stainless)

Steve, I might take you up on that. Just came back from the range. Leverguns 20180704.jpg I shot the group you are seeing at 25 yards just leaning on a fence post while standing up.I used 7 rounds of Federal 240 gr JHPs and three Federal 'cast core' factory loads (the two holes that are to the right...

Re: Rossi .44 Magnum carbine (stainless)

Ok, here is my take on the safety... that safety is so easy to move it is too easy. I can see it come 'on' or 'off' in the brush thus (and I have owned lever guns from since I was 16 and pump Winchester '03 since 15!) it is a actual danger. If one carries it fully loaded (chamber loaded) and it that...

Re: Rossi .44 Magnum carbine (stainless)

Thanks. I've seen Steve's website. Seen is plug for the safety's hole and the aperture sight. But if I take the safety off will it, uh, freak out lawyers? Oh, and is the half cock notch strong enough not to break if it is stuck? I remember long time ago in Outdoor Life a guy in Canada had his Marlin...

Rossi .44 Magnum carbine (stainless)

Hello folks, this is my first post. Well I have three lever guns. A Marlin 336 Texan, Marlin (Rimlin) 45/70, and just today got a Rossi 92 16 inch stainless .44. Well about that .44! Now it shoots about 5 inches high at 25 yards. No biggie since I dug up a Winchester 94 rear sight that has a lower e...
