Re: 357 days...

Nice! It is always a pleasant surprise when those dark birds flush. I nailed two of them in Kansas years ago and gave them to the outfitter to have mounted for his lodge. I get to see them every time I visit there. He also collects old ammo, so I traded him some old Peters shells for modern ammo to ...

Cool- there are two airports within 15 minutes of my farm. my neighbor is a retired AA 747 pilot and flies out of another nearby airport. He taught his sons to fly in a piper cub using his pasture as a strip! When I am in my office tomorrow, I will send you an email with a pic of my recent anniversa...

Re: 410 Double

I have a little early model Savage O/U - 22/410 that is small, accurate and easy handling. This is one of the guns bought to train my grandson to shoot before he moved on to his own Henry .22 lever action and 20 and then a 12 gauge Weatherby over under shotguns. I have since used it to train a coupl...

Re: Cabela's handguns

Leverluver, Agreed with Vance - buying a long gun on Guns America and having it shipped to a local Cabelas for $25 has worked well for me. Of course, there several Cabelas in Texas. Have you considered a vacation ? You could come down to visit and hunt in Texas and buy your pistols then. Or, if you ...

Re: Uberti 1886 Sporter vs Pedersoli 1886 Far west both 45-70

Robert,
Your Miroku 1886 is a lot like mine (also a TD) except you have a shorter chamber.
I put the Marbles folding barrel sight on for big game up close and the Marbles peep tang for smaller stuff and longer ranges. The combo had worked well.

Re: Uberti 1886 Sporter vs Pedersoli 1886 Far west both 45-70

Plus 1 on the light hammer strikes with the Miroku made Winchester 1886 + when new, my 1886 had an 11 pound trigger pull. However it was easy to fix; for $100, a CAS friend slicked up the action, lowered the trigger pull to 4 pounds and increased the hammer strike to solve that problem. He also put ...

I have both and find the blued easy to remove powder residue, but it seems to be much more obvious on the stainless and much more difficult to remove.

Jealous for the mod 63 - my uncle had one that I shot every summer and it is the only .22 auto rifle that I ever wanted. I bought myself a M61 when a teenager and still have it to pass on to someone one day.

My .357 companions for open carry are two S&W M19 revolvers; a 4 and a 6 inch. These are backed up by a 4 inch .44 mag worn cross draw for ease of access and egress from vehicles. Pix of all have been posted here in the past. One of these always goes along when hunting or working out in "th...

If you use Dropbox for your photos, the android will keep them there and on Dropbox central. Then when you bring up your computer, the new pix will be downloaded to your computer. Just put dropbox on computer and on Android and forget about it.

Congrats on a good start to the season. I plan to take my grandson for pheasants during his time off from school in Thanksgiving holidays.
