Re: 348 Brass

Also, Starline brass started making brass for .348 a bit ago if you need. It's $1.86 per instead of Graf's $2.70, and personally I like Starline's brass, in general, a bit more than Hornady anyways. You do have to order a larger quantity though(250), so maybe a group-buy unless you're stocking up. :...

.348 bullet options

@joepb asked about .348 bullets in another thread, so I thought I'd bump up the visibility just a little on two options for the hunters in the non-lead states. https://hammerbullets.com/product/348-cal-162g-shock-hammer/ ($71.00 / 50) https://www.gscustomusa.com/348180HV242.html ($74.56 / 50) They h...

Re: Anyone use a satellite phone...?

I have a Delorme now - pairs with my cell phone (Bluetooth) so I can send texts back and forth via sat. Much cheaper than a Sat phone, but it's text and not voice ... and it's been many years since I was a teenager. What is the exact device you have...? I will let my son and gf know about that. I h...

Re: Anyone use a satellite phone...?

One saved my butt on a SAR callout way back in the boonies - Air National Guard came and lined us out of the canyon we were searching near dusk. I have a Delorme now - pairs with my cell phone (Bluetooth) so I can send texts back and forth via sat. Much cheaper than a Sat phone, but it's text and no...

Re: Introduction and the .348

Well, after much looking and thinking, I think I will keep it as a 348 now that I've found a few pieces of brass to load up (with a BIG thank you to fordwannabe for finding someone who had a bag!) Thank you to everyone! When I started down this road I was thinking about a new 1895, the laminate Marl...

Re: A public thank you to sixgun

"Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery." I may be new here, and have never met him, but I have already felt Sixgun's influence through the generosity of the forum members in private messages. In this day and age of forums and online messaging, it says a lot about the members and t...

Re: Introduction and the .348

It's a bog-stock rifle with missing bolt-peep windage, the wrong swivels, and it's been used so the receiver bluing is a touch worn along with the checkering. You can find other beauty queens online ... this one's nice buy won't be winning any ribbons. :) 45-70 and .358 are both good suggestions. Th...

Introduction and the .348

Greetings! Disclaimer: Prior to my picking it up the receiver was drilled/tapped for side-scope and the supergrade swivels were removed, so this this is basically a shooter and not a collector's piece. Mike here, just got my first lever-action (Model 71 Deluxe) and am curious about a few things that...
