I own a 4106 .40 S&W....same thing as a 4006 except is double action only. They are good solid pistols...double stack mags hold 11 shots...quite heavy for their size...mine has the straight grip but arched back grips were offered too and are interchangeable to fit the shooter.

There is a small spring behind the cartridge stop....if it is broken or gone would cause that type of feed issue

The Syrix boasts some sort of 'nitrix' gas system technology it's supposedly 1000 fps gun. The Ruger I'm not sure if it's spring or gas/spring or what? The Ruger Air Hawk claims 1200 fps. The Ruger is the easier to cock.

I'm not very experienced with break barrel pellet rifles...but I'm learning

I own a couple Winchester 1300 Defenders 12ga and a Ranger 120 20ga. The 1300 are product improved versions of Winchester's earlier 120/1200 pump guns and are good shotguns. The magazines...certain types of magazines like old style 1911 split followers can slip forward with the last round and pecker-up the frame feed ramp. Not an issue with steel framed guns. Alloy frame safe mags will have a 'skirted' follower....I use Kimber mags in an allow framed officer size pistol...

Some firearms related terms that irritate me.....'shottie' or 'scatter-gun' means shotgun I guess....referring to a Winchester as a 'winnie' or referring to a Remington as a 'remy'...then you have 'wheel-gun' to me that would imply something with tires on it such as artillery rather than a revolver ...

Hmmm...the very top M1895 in the OP pic...the one with no handguard....is that a .30-40 Krag/.30 US by chance??

Semi wad-cutter .357 magnum I would imagine would be just fine in a tube magazine rifle. Not really much recoil and flat nose bullets. Unless you drop the carbine off a cliff and it lands butt first I would think the danger minimal. Seems the danger is in heavier recoiling arms where it really kicks...

.44-40 bore size....well....published specs claim .427" but that ain't true for an old Winchester. I own two early 1900's Winchester M1892's a rifle and a carbine. The rifle bore slugs .430" with a fair/decent bore. The carbine has a pretty poor bore and it slugs .431" I do own a Ross...

Huh??….Did not know that! I would've thought it plenty strong for smokeless loads!

I own a Browning 1886 .45-70 carbine and it's barrel wears no restriction. Pretty certain both the older Brownings and newer Winchester 1886 rifles and carbines are made by Miroku.

Hmm...cleaning firearms as a business? That would likely boil down into the same legalities as a gunsmith. Most gunsmiths offer the clean and inspect service for a small fee anyhow. That's sort-of the nature of the beast as mentioned. The Colt DA design doesn't work like a S&W or Ruger DA revolver. As long as it gets pretty close to bolting-up when cocked and doesn't 'carry-over' when cocked fast or in double action it's likely fine.

My experience with .44 bullets and .44-40 bore diameters is that nothing is as advertised! I own two old Winchester M1892 rifles in .44WCF. These date to like 1904 for a carbine and 1907 for a sporting rifle. The rifle has a good bore and slugs at .430" while the carbine has a fairly rough bore...

Graf's BP is Wano re-labeled. It's what I'm using and works well enough. It's the only black powder I can buy without mail-ordering and paying the haz-mat fee. It's good powder.

yeh I got the 'Red Ryder' leather thong on all my saddle-ring guns too. Does help with the rattle and definitely helps the receiver finish. I've seen guys wrap the entire ring with thin leather. And too...we are talking post 64 Winchester M94 rifles/carbines....the trigger flops back and forth while...
