The Mosin is now ~7 inches shorter. (still need to lap in the crown) Yes, we did shoot it first and found it to be a fun gun to shoot.... it was a 41 Russian with nothing special on it. Used stain / paper / tongue oil from another project .... and YES we did paint the barrel / receiver with Hi Temp ...

Now that i have the .357 / .38 sorta figured out I thought i would move on to 30 30 loads. How is the best way to evaluate the bore of a rifle ..... I have done my best to see inside the bore with a light on one end and using the q-tip method of seeing a few inches on each end....
