I guess what I am asking is, how do you know what size they actually are? Some seem to be very slightly longer or shorter, are you just buying them and measuring, or is there some sort of comparison guide?

I am looking for ammo suggestions for my Rossi in 357 and 38. One thing I was hoping to find was reference material describing cartridges by length. The manufacturer’s sites don't seem to offer any info on this point. I want to try different ammo, but I want to be methodical in approach.
