the 30/30 will do just fine. I have 3 hogs seen shot with them.. 3 hogs, 3 bullets... worked perfectly fine!

I doubt i could tell the difference between 2,5 or 3 inch barrel but i would always choose fixed sights... My current revolver is a 1 7/8 inch s&w 642 and the only regret i have is that it is too light to comfortably shoot imho.. get the 2,5 inch, make sure it is a 38 spcl and put a crimson lase...

I guess it was almost 10 years ago, but like an idiot, I passes on a BRNO o/u with 3 barrel sets including shotgun, double rifle with windage and elev. on the second barrel, and combination barrel set for $750. oke, as much as i love the shotgun as "do it all", the above gun would have it...

got a 340 and paid $270 for it. It has a old fixed 4x power weaver scope on it. I absolutely love the rifle and would buy it again in a heartbeat for that price :) Very accurate too btw. Caliber? And is the mount one of the Weaver detachable side mounts, or is it the stamped N-type? Mine is a 30/30...

Works very well.. i use it to talk to my parents in Europe. A fast internet connection allows you to run higher (better) video quality. And best of all... Free!

I checked out the mossberg 30-30 in the gunshop and liked it a lot !!! seemed like a nice gun to me. But like Alan said.. take a look at the Henry's ! made in america and priced right ! ;)

My place is like Madman4570's place, lot's of turkeys I just don't hunt them in the spring. I do buy a fall tag and shoot one with a .22 rifle that is fun. This year I donated a spring tom turkey hunt for a local disabled solider. We will make him a big breakfast, call one in for him and celebrate....

Besides, the machine work on those straight pulls is something to behold. IIRC someone did a rough calculation and figured out if the K31 were made today (actually this was 6-8 years ago) it would run close to $2K due to the machining. That is funny that you mention this... i thought the exact same...

oke... so yesterday i went out to buy a mosin nagant.. came home with a k31..... the rifle is in good shape, bore is shiny and extremely clean and it has a tag under the buttplate ( which seems common with swiss rifles) it was build in 1942 and has the potential of becomming my "new" favou...

Wow! nice trophy and very good shooting!!! i'd be mighty proud of that trophy too.. We dont hear too much about henry centerfire rifles but if they are as nice as the rimfires i wouldnt hesitate one second to buy one.

As long as the animals have a way of escape and are not trapped, i fail to see why it is more sporting to "snipe" at an unsuspecting animal 200 yds away eating some corn.... It is VERY common in europe to hunt drives like that. nice hunt and congrats hitting a running target at full speed ...

#2 shot is the largest shot allowed on Ct state land... it will do up to 30 if your guns patterns well... test several choke's and see which patterns best.

i am with Bogie on this one.... a 30-06 might be a bit heavy for a beginner unless he starts on managed recoil ammo.. a 30/30 or 35 rem will do just fine.

Cant wait to find out the specs on their 150 gr gmx 30-30 ammo. I applaud hornady for not sitting still and constantly trying to improve !!!! For sure i will try their new ammo !
