I have one of the older all-brass Zippos, and I lit and smoked many enjoyable cigarettes with that lighter. Even though I quit smoking long ago and won't ever fool with the stuff again, I still keep that brass Zippo tucked away with some other personal collectables.

Research the serial number and you’ll be able to pin down when it was made and what is proper for them. I have a 1943 Remington Rand 1911A1 and I thought it had been poorly refinished because the slide has a slight shift in the appearance of the finish. As it turns out, the finish was original and t...

Which would you prefer on a bolt-action 375 H&H magnum for use primarily under 100 yards? I finally remembered where I had seen a red dot tested with 1000 rounds of .375 H&H mag. It’s the Vortex “Strikefire” and I have one mounted on my Marlin 1895 SBL. I used a LaRue Tactical Q/D mount. I ...

The best way I could sum it up is “you get what you pay for”. Yeah, I know – that applies to pretty much anything but what I’m trying to say is that ESPECIALLY applies to red dot / holo sights. Wow, I've never seen boxer-primed ammo that was "surplus" in this caliber. Most is copper-washed steel cases and is usually 147-150gr light ball or 180gr heavy ball. If it's really 170gr then I'd bet it is commercial over-run and not military surplus, which would increase the likelihood of...

For me to buy into another new caliber (.327), there would have to be a levergun chambered in it as well. I think a lever .327 would probably be fun rifle. I just haven’t seen this caliber “take off” yet so a reloader could have a decent selection of components, so I’m staying on the sideline for now.
