Re: Reloading Question: Resizing?

Interesting. I have a Winchester 94 Trapper in 45 Colt that the fired cases are rather bulged out near the base. Would that be from an oversized chamber? I never was too concerned about it because the gun has very good accuracy, tho I dont recall ever shooting paper with it. But it rolls bowling pin...

Ruger makes the 30 Carbine round in the Blackhawk, with a 7 1/2" barrel. I have one, my very 1st pistol. Whith factory rounds the muzzle blast is excessive and very loud. With handloads it can be made to be a really nice shooter.

In all my readings, the 45-70 has 3 loading groups. Group 1 being the low pressure group. Group 2 the middle of the road type, which is what the Winchester and Browning 86's arealong with the marlin leverguns. Group 3 being the high presser guns like the Ruger No.1. I use any loadings for the Marlin...

Does anyone load Triple 7 in 44-40? A fella at our local SASS match last month claims thats what he shoots, no reason to doubt him. He said he loads them same as regular shells, meaning regular lubed bullets. Just wondered if anyone else did this. Sounds like fun shooting like BP, without the mess.

Anyone else notice at the start of the drive, when they were taking the herd for the 10 mile run, towards the end of the run on the right side, a horse went down and must have gotten seriously pummeled by the herd followwing behind. I'm suprised that wasn't cut out.
