Re: Got banned from Marlin Owners site
I never got banned, but I got a warning once for just mentioning I had some old Marlin parts I was thinking of selling. Some idiot sent me a warning message telling me I needed to post this in the "For Sale" section, and I told him I hadn't even decided if I was selling, or what price I'd...

Got banned from Marlin Owners site
Just got banned from the Marlin Owners Forum all because I didn't agree with some of there views.
They act like they are all for Freedom of Speech until they don't want to hear your opinion.
There are some thin skined Moderators on there.
I surely won't be losing any sleep over it......

Get a brass rod that's the same diameter as the holes in the end of the tube and gently rock it back and forth.....make sure the rod goes through both holes......heat the front of the receiver up using common sense.....heat gun on low or even a hair dryer....common sense....protect the wood as you ...

Winchester mod.71 mag. tube question
Quick question:
I have a Winchester Model 71 Deluxe made in 1941
Is the magazine tube threaded or just pressed in?
I want to remove the forend wood and the tube doesn't pull out, it won't budge and I don't want to force it and screw it up.
Thanks

Re: Found a Marlin 336 A DL
A real ADL like yours is very hard to find! They sold so few of them that Marlin ended up using up the "336 ADL" barrels on regular 336A guns, causing a lot of confusion in later years! People often buy these guns with the 336 ADL marked barrels, and think they've got a real ADL, or think...

The 71 is a really special Winchester, if you ask me. The .348 is about as perfect an elk cartridge as there is. Somewhere on Youtube is a classic video of a bunch of guys going hunting with their Model 71s in the 1950s. Here is that video I love it! https://lowerbalsamlake.com/canadian-moose-hunt

They both shoot ok you can hit tin cans with them at 20 feet can't complain with the fixed sights that are on them.
I don't shoot the 929 much and I mostly use the 949 with snake shot in it.
I had a 999 and I couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside with it.
