You need some 2 1/4 inch slides Lenn. I guess 35mm slides would work too.

That 45th Lyman manual came out in 1970. It does list loads for 308 and 30-06 if any of those interest you. I'd be happy to send you copies of any part you're interested in. Just let me know.

Re: Need data for obsolete powder please.

Okay guys, sorry it took me so long to get around to it but I have a Lyman 45th manual that does list loads for "most popular rifle calibers" using 760BR. 270/130 grain jacketed: 48 grains 2717 fps; max: 55 grains 3105 fps. Woops, wrong powder. They do list 780BR for 308, 30-06 etc but not for 270.

Same cartridge but a flat-nose or JSP and I'd be much happier.

What if choice was 44 Special LRN from carbine vs 38 Special JSP from carbine ...?
I'll take the 44, (or 45) every time. I often fit that situation posed only with 44-40. I don't feel undergunned.

Winchester used a very slow twist on that particular model and it would only stabilize bullets that looked more like shoe buttons. I d...
