It was a riverboat whistle that the "Solemn Old Judge" would blow when he felt like it. I remember it well from listening to the Grand Ol Opry on the radio. I can't imagine how he could make enough wind to blow that steam whistle.

Lots of Uberti links, in matched sets, for sale over on SASS classifieds. They replace them with short stroke sets. Lately I've seen a couple of sets from the new Mirokus offered. I have one of each, (Miroku and Win from 1885) and doing comparisons found the links to be interchangeable in mine. Or V...

Sometime in 62 we were issued M-14s with wood hand guards. During our first trip to the range, everyone's rifle was smoking, no full auto. We got our carbines back. I don't see why you don't get that with Garands. But then they should have chosen FALS like the rest of the free world. JMO!

Here is where I'd use a points eliminator but these look pretty good so? Give me the specs on your rings and I might have set. I need the bore diameter and the thickness of each ring if you want to go to that much trouble. Worked on an old Ithica 37 pump this morning and it shoots and shucks now.

I calculated using a 9 tooth/40 tooth sprocket, then 9 tooth/30 tooth turning the 8 inch dia. drive roller. 2000 RPM at the motor should give about 2.9 mph which, I think, is about right but only trial runs will prove what little changes are required. Lookin' good Lenn.

I ran the numbers Pitchy and if I got it right 2000 RPM should give you just under 3 MPH which sounds about perfect to me. The only sketchy part is how much slippage the roller exhibits under power. It may need some cleats to get enough traction. Whatcha think?
