Beautiful rig. Makes me want to get some leather for my Vaquero.

Re: OT - Snubbies & Felt Recoil
That's a common item with pistol ammo. Logic says that heavier weight bullets should produce a stronger recoil, however, the lower powder charge associated with the heavier bullets produces less of a snap and more of a push resulting in a milder feeling recoil. Lighter weight defensive ammo is usua...

Re: Nicest looking Levergun
Pathfinder09, that is a nice looking '95. Is it a Browning?

Re: Nicest looking Levergun
You guys are listing guns I haven't even heard of. I guess I need to do some more reading.

Re: Nicest looking Levergun
For me, each model has it's special quirks that I like. Of the models I've shot I like the '94 best with the '92 next in line. Of the guns I've owned I really like the Hi-grade Browning '95. I sold my Hi-grade Browning in 30-06 because I knew I'd never shoot anything that looked that pretty. Eventua...

Re: Noob, help with scope 1894/44mag
This may not be what you want but I mounted a red dot on an XS scout mount on my Winchester 94. It shoots really well and gives good field of view. I like how much easier it is to see in a low light situation.

Re: Any models allow topping off magazine?
Okay, so it sounds like I just need to use a bit more force. I can do that.Hobie wrote:IIRC my gun now long gone, you just need to push in harder on the gate. I often topped it up when hunting ground hogs (yes, with a .44 Mag).

I'll check for a burr on the gate as well this weekend.
Thanks,

Re: Any models allow topping off magazine?
I'm not a 94 person, but I can "top off" my 71. I thought the 73, 92, and 94 could also be topped off but obviously there's an issue with the 44 Mag version. I'm sure the 94 experts will be by any second. Perhaps your cartridge stop is messing up? I'll try it again with some dummy rounds....

Any models allow topping off magazine?
I have a Winchester 94 in 44 mag that is a great gun. I really like it. But, it appears that I can't top off the tube magazine when rounds are in the mag. Because when the action closes the loading gate drops and lets a round come back on the loading gate waiting to be loaded. Do any of the other tu...

Re: Rossi 92 Scout Mount
I should have waited to post this morning. Just got back from the range and the new Rossi mount is here. The taper in the mount from one end to the other is exactly .100". Now as Paul Harvey used to say "we know the rest of the story". So, which mount did you get that worked? The 801...
