If you don't already have one, a 45/70, as it has the biggest hunk of lead that you can throw downrange without breaking the bank like you would with the exotic big game calibers.

Between the single-shot exemption going away at the end of this year and the micro-stamping requirement that went into effect, semi-auto handguns are falling off the roster in droves. By the end of the year, there will be practically no new semi-auto handguns that will be available for purchase in C...

We picked up a 2-year-old labrador/akbash mix at the animal shelter in April. He's been a great dog, friendly, playful, good with the kids. When he's home alone, though, he gets destructive. What is "unregistered ammunition and firearms offenses"? I guess in DC you have to register your ammo? Doesn't say if his handguns were locked up. Seems like if they were, then there shouldn't have been an issue, but then, I don't know DC laws, either.

I'm not surprised that the 357 weighed in just a tad more...probably uses the same barrel, but has a smaller bore compared to the 44 and 45, so more steel left in it. However, the 357 would also has a smaller magazine tube, but the net effect should still make for a slightly heavier gun.
