Taurus makes a handgun called the Judge with same chambering. It's marketed
as a home defense weapon. I'm told that a .410 double 0 buck shell holds three
pellets roughly the size of a .38 bullet. Would probably slow a burglar down PDQ.
The rifle is an evolution of the handgun.

Re: I can't see to sights to shoot!
Do you older fellas (like me) that have to use reading glasses
but don't need prescription lenses wear your readers when
using optics be it riflescope, spotting scope, or binocs?
I have tried both ways and not sure which is better.

Yep this a bho classic end around move. He can express no desire to add
more gun controls and at the same time let a beaurocratic government
agency do his diry work. November can't get here soon enough.

Re: Scout mount on my Marlin
Dave, What I'm getting at is that the eyepiece of the scope is down tight to the mount but up off the ring base when the scope is set forward to get proper eye relief. That is with the eyepiece just about where the barrel meets the receiver. I'm worried if high rings are high enough or if extra high...

Re: Scout mount on my Marlin
Help
Got everything put together folllowing what instructions I got, but back of scope won't seat
in to the ring. If I move the scope back so it seats I lose the eye relief. Using medium ht.
rings per XZ recommendations. I guess I go to high rings???

Re: Scout mount on my Marlin
Hello everybody,
Well I made my choice. Went with Nikon 2x20. If it all works
out I'll post some pics. If it doesn't I'll be in my room pouting.
Thanks to all for your input, advice, and pics.

Re: Scout mount on my Marlin
Well, after a lot of thought and research I'm down to either a Weaver 2x28 ($150 @ SWFA) or Nikon 2x20 ($200 same place). Wanting silver to match the gun and these are the 2 best options for what I want to spend. Have a Leupold VX-I on my 270 b/a and love it but don't want to drop the cash on an FX-...

Scout mount on my Marlin
First time on this site so Hello Everyone.
I have a Marlin 308MXLR that I'm thinking about adding a Simmons 2-6x32 scope on a
XS sytems scout mount. Yes, I have looked at Leupold & Nikon but not really looking
to break the bank on this. Any advice or experience on this?
