Re: New to me Winchester Model 94 Trapper!
I was able to get to the range this morning, cold and all and it was well worth it. My trapper seems to like 170 grain bullets the most. Groups are about half the size of the 150 grain loads from multiple brands. I was only able to shoot at about 80 yards, but the deer next year are going to be in f...

New to me Winchester Model 94 Trapper!
I have to brag about my latest find. I have been wanting a 16" 30-30 Winchester for as long as I have been into guns. By the time I could afford one, Winchester had stopped making model 94 rifles. After months and months of lurking on Gunbroker.com, I finally found my 30-30. The thing is, every...

Re: Bisley hammers
The process is not too bad. The major issue is reducing the hump on the back of the hammer to allow it to fit in a non-bisley grip frame. I've seen most people just scribe the shape of the back side of the original hammer on the bisley hump and grind/polish it down. I think Power Custom offers a dro...

Reproduction Model 92s by Rossi
I've noticed that Uberti 24" 1873 rifles have a tapered barrel as well as Taylor's Italian made model 1892.
Can anyone tell me if the 24" Rossi (EMF) model 1892s have a tapered barrel?
Thanks,
Patrick

Re: OT - Beretta Laramie versus Uberti Schofield
Noah, Thank you so much! It has been a difficult ordeal to actually get information, real working information from anyone about this gun. Everything is hearsay from “others” but with no personal experience. Given the price difference and the lack of representation in my area with the Laramie, I'm th...

Re: OT - Beretta Laramie versus Uberti Schofield
Thanks guys, I know that Uberti makes both versions. The differences I was trying to get an answer on was more to do with their handling/grip shape differences and their latch characteristics. http://www.buffaloarms.com/prodimg/CA855.jpg http://www.shootersexchange.com/images/items/full/76987.jpg Se...

OT - Beretta Laramie versus Uberti Schofield
Gentlemen, I have a great desire to own and shoot a top break style revolver. I have been able to narrow down my choices between the Beretta Laramie and the Uberti Schofield. I am about 80% sure I want the 5" barrel length and I will definitely go with the .45 colt caliber as authentic calibers...

Shortening a Levergun?
What would be a ballpark estimate for a typical barrel/tube shortening on a lvergun. I'm thinking of a project later on down the road and wanted to see what you all have seen and experienced.
Thanks,
Patrick

Thanks Gamekeeper. I've been a lurker here for a while, but sometimes a man has got to ask his own questions. :) TTN guns are made in China. Steve, could you message me a let me know how much you charge for the CCH finish on one of these 1878 shotguns. Do you have any with the full CCH treatment lef...

OT: TTN 1878 Shotgun?
I've been looking around for these beauties for a while and can only find blued 20" barreled versions from Taylor's, Cimarron and EMF. I have seen versions that are color-case hardened on the receiver and have heard about 26" barrels on them. Does anyone know where a CCH version with 26&qu...

I almost had a heart attack...
when I read that the old levergun site was going down. I was very relieved to see this new forum a couple lines later.
I don't post a whole lot, but I check this thing just about everyday.
Good to see everyone still.
