Ebay has a few 6x leupold scopes, not cheap but if a guy takes his time some times you can do all right
bought a 6x leupold 30 years ago, it has held up to many thousands of magnum rounds and now sits on top
of my nifty Ruger RSI in 250 savage Great Scope!!

That is the kind of 308 I've been looking for! most of them are pricy ( at least around here ) no matter what the condition is

AJMD429 That mini I have whips the brass in any direction but over to the left id need a 50 foot tarp to catch them all :lol:

don't mind losing a few but new 300 BL if I go that route might warrant the tarp treatment

So far I like the idea of the mini 30 & so do the guys that own them on here, did not know the mini came in 300 BO that would be close to the 7.62X39 with a lot more load data going for the BO & heavy bullets, as far as a nail driver shooter I don't care, if it shoots like my mini 14 off hand a 100 ...

Thanks Gunny, some plinking with the gun would be normal, but mostly a just in case you have to run gun, I do hand load so would have a good supply of ammo, home defense gun not likely, have others that are set up for that

At the tender age of 64+ I bought my first center fire semi auto, its a mini 14, I like it well enough that I was thinking about a mini 30, being I know pretty much nothing about them or pros & con on the ak -sks or the mini I thought id bring this up for a hashing out, but these are the only 3 guns...

Nice looking 99! most all of them are real slick until locking up or un locking them, sounds like yours is normal
tried calling in a coyote tonight with my 99 in 243 but I had no success

Most of the time I cast my own, some times I have run low, I tried Missouri cast bullets sample pack in the coated Varity
was real happy with them, have used laser cast, also good bullets

I have a Cimmaron with a 7 1/2 in bbl. in 38-40, also a Colt new frontier 3rd gen in 44-40, having had more Colt revolvers than Uberti I really think that the Colt saa is over rated, Colt is great investment if a guy would have bought 30 of them 50 years ago I would get the Cimmaron & shoot the heck...

I cooked up some mystery metal today also, cut some of it with the saws all, it was in about 2 foot kind of triangle bars also cut some tin, the mystery bar cut harder than the tin, so I threw the mystery metal in with about 2lb, of ww it had a lot of gold colored dross, I fluxed the heck out of it ...

Have a bit of info, not sure how fast its going but im close, maybe 1900 fps? 2 + in high at 100 yd would give you about 7 in, low at 200 yd. with around 1100 foot pounds of energy, plenty good for elk or deer, ive shot some of the barnes but never had a shot at elk but have shot deer with the barne...

I also use the 130 speer in a AE trapper, shoots great but I did put a scope on it, figured it was made for a scope

yep did some shooting today, loaded 50 38 spl then got bored with that & un loaded a bunch of ammo in a 45 colt lever gun
& then went to work with a 38-40 revolver, best deal was the wife took me out for supper!1
