If it is new take the buttstock off and hose down the action well with your favorite aerosol cleaner(non-chlorinated brake cleaner), give it a little shot of lubricant, then pick a nice Saturday and put a few good Westerns on and cycle the action. Mine bought a few years ago had enough left over cru...

Re: Any of you guys have/ had one of the older S&W 4006,
I have always been a 3rd Generation fan, and was able to pick up one of the CHP 4006's. Great pistol, solid and heavy in a comforting sort of way. Shoots great, although a little bit low for me. Prices are not getting any lower on the old Smiths, even with 40's falling out of favor lately. I don't c...

There is already something in 358. The 358 yeti. Its a 308 case chopped and shouldered. but is that a straight walled cartridge? Living in the lower half of Michigan, we are shotgun, muzzle loader or the new straight walled cartridge only. I really like the idea of the 350, but don't like the .355 ...

Catshooter touched on the matter of noise if you actually need to shoot in the house.. One thing you might want to seriously consider is a pair of Electronic ear muffs stored with any home defense weapon/flashlight combo. Much cheaper than a suppressor and gives the added benefit of amplifying sound.

I have a 20" 357 I bought several years ago that did the same thing. Would lock the action up tight and would have to coax the loading gate to free it up. I changed out the magazine spring and the follower to an aftermarket spring and metal follower and that fixed it. Much easier to load now an...

Looking at a Classic model with the 20 inch Octagon barrel. Overall it's in decent shape, there is some corrosion where the wood meets the metal.
