Re: What rifle??
I wish we could use rifles here. ML or shotguns only. There has been talk of pistol caliber rifles but the DNR has been opposing them. When you can use a modern inline ML that has the range and power of a 45/70 it is pretty stupid to not allow rifles or at least pistol caliber rifles. What do we kno...

The older I get the less I like newer stuff. That is a great story and rifle. I am sure your grandfather approves.

Re: Gun shops in Michigan???
Not many that I would call "must see" Williams is really good, I have been going there for 25 years. It's not on your route but a nice couple hour detour north if you have the time. Jays has always had a really good inventory when I have been there. Prices might not be the best but they ar...

Re: CMMG screwing Coloradans
Did you check with BlackDog Machine? They work in CMMG conversions but wont activate the bolt hold open. Looks like they are in stock when I just checked. Thanks, in stock and ships fast. Probably be buying other stuff too. I have had really good results with them. Bought my first mags way back whe...

Re: S&W Model 4586 ??
Great pistol. You will find a ton of information at the S&W forum. Smith will either have a manual to download or will send you one with a phone call. When your done shooting it load a mag with the spent shell cases. It will feed them....

Re: Reloading 45 LC - Today's Costs VS Commercial Ammo
Some years ago at my range I found a box that was full of Starline 45 Colt cases. On the box was a note that these cases had been loaded 20 times and were left there as scrap only, not to load them. Of course I naturally took them home and loaded them up with my normal load of Unique and a 250 cast ...

Buy them both. Thats a good price now, and they will only get more expensive over time. Plus they are really fun pistols to shoot.

The best of luck to you. It will make a good destination this summer for a motorcycle trip. I just happen to be on vacation around that time.

Re: Thoughts and Photos of the 32 W.C.F. (32-20)
That is a nice looking rifle. When I was younger I remember reading an article by Skeeter about the 32/20 and his Colt Bisley. His writing about it made me want to purchase one. Your posting about this one makes me want one all over again.

Re: New Pre 64 model 94
Nope Hobie this one has four holes drilled. Thanks for the tip on the date code, I will look when I do the stock. I got to the range with it today and it shoots really nice. I only shot at 50 but after I moved the insert in the rear sight down and gave it a couple taps to the right I got it dialed i...

Re: New Pre 64 model 94
Thanks for the welcome Perry. I have been lurking for several years but never had anything to post about until now. To make the proper introductions I have the Ranger, a Rossi 45 Colt and a Henry Frontier which is my favorite lever so far. I have several Ruger 45 Colts and a wonderful Single Six 32 ...

Re: New Pre 64 model 94
The scope was mounted with a Weaver base with four holes drilled and tapped. The only marks on it are "Weaver detachable side-1" . It almost looks like two of the holes have been stipped out and repaired as there is some raised metal that you can feel on those but not the other two holes. ...

Re: New Pre 64 model 94
Its not drilled for a peep or I would put one on. I was debating between a 69 with the stamped lifter that had a Williams peep on it, then I found this pre 64. I might still pick the 69 up as that one was a good price too and is my birth year.

New Pre 64 model 94
Hi all, I have had a Ranger for 15 or so years but I have never liked the cross bolt safety. I recently picked up a pre 64 at a gun show. It was drilled and tapped and came with a vintage Weaver scope but was a nice price and solid so I picked it up. The serial number is in the 1942-48 range so I am...
