I used Early American on one project and was very happy with it. Keep in mind colors will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

I'm partial to the horizontally opposed 6 cylinder engines. Just picked this up this spring.

I do not participate on Facebook. My wife and daughter do. I see it as a waste of time when there are FAR better things to be doing.
And here I am on this forum!!

I just "welded" the mirror housing back together that my daughter almost ripped off my car while backing it out of the garage. I was NOT very happy with her!

Re: Who uses 3 in 1 oil these days?
I have a can of 3 and 1 both on my shop workbench as well as my reloading bench. A drop behind each ear works almost as good as Hoppe's #9 when I run out!

Cliff mentioned adding lanolin to ATF and it might work very well. I've got another product I tried and you might too if it's not going to mess up your top finish. I didn't take the time to research it for you......here is a link: http://www.fluid-film.com/ I have used this for years and it is very ...

Re: Need Help with Marbles Game Getter Scope mount
Doug, is there a model number stamped on your scope mount? Ben, No model number stamped that I can see. Says only "Gamegetter, Gladstone, MI. Might be something on the bottom side, but I'm not about to remove the mount to see.....I'm sure you understand. The Marbles Gamegetter scope mounts did...

Re: Need Help with Marbles Game Getter Scope mount
I seen a used Savage 99 with one of these scope mounts and they seemed like the cats meow . The peep sight under the scope mount was pretty cool. I would like to get one for my 99 , Win 88 or Rem 7600. But so far all I have found for the Marbles part # is for the Win 88 which is WI-41-R . I need to...

I have found that their prices on reloading supplies is very competitive. There is also a Gander Mountain under two miles away and Scheels has them beat hands down on their prices. Both are Eau Claire, WI stores.

Re: Waaaaaay OT! Table Saw Rust Removal
Another method that works (maybe) is to coat the object with petroleum jelly (Navel jelly?) and let it set for a few days, then clean it off. Good luck. You know.....I didn't think of the Navel Jelly idea. That might work. I'm guessing if I were to cover it with some tinfoil it might even work a bi...

Waaaaaay OT! Table Saw Rust Removal
Forum members here have dealt with rust in the past on firearms, and I knew somebody here would have some advise on rust removal. A bit different scenario here! I am purchasing a table saw that requires a lot of cleanup on the table top. I have used steel wool with aerosol "rust knockers"...

Re: OT- Small base dies?
I use small base dies for two of my rifles. One is a BAR 30-06 semi auto and the other is a Rem. model 760 in .270. More often than not the BAR would not chamber at all until I switched to small base dies. The .270 would chamber, but not until you used excessive force. Small base dies fixed that pro...

Re: 99e info
Thanks DougB,I may have to find another fore end as mine seems to have been hogged out some in order for the swivel stud to go in straight. You might need some advise from a real pro on your firearm. As I stated, my o-ring trial might be a simple fix. If there is a fore-stock alignment issue or oth...

Re: 99e info
First thing I would try is quite simple. With the mounting screw inserted through the forearm, forearm not on the gun, place the appropriate size o-ring around the screw, so it "rolls" on and fits snug around the screw. Now reattach the forearm to your rifle. This o-ring will help isolate ...

Re: Williams peep sight on Savage 99?
A "tang" peep will be all of 1" further to the rear. Earlier guns, than mine, are drilled and tapped in a different location for the sights. That sight is intended to be mounted in the rear scope holes. One could get a steel Lyman or Redfield sight, but they are rarer than the rifles...

Re: Marlin 336 Question
I have heard of some people intentionally installing the sling swivel through the bullseye. If they do want to remove the sling in the future, it is quite easy to replace the bullseye and not have to worry about a hole in the buttstock. Sort of makes some sense in a way, although the mount would be ...

Same here. I do poke each cases flash hole out with a dental pick as well as a quick spin of the reamer. Never paid much attention to dirt.claybob86 wrote:I don't clean primer pockets except what cleaning happens in the tumbler. Never had a problem with them.
