it is a type of epoxy. i have tried every stripper under the sun and most under the moon. i finally had to just sand it down to raw wood. doing that you run a great risk of damaging it. mine faired well as it was already rough.

i have always had good luck with unique. i start at 10 grains and work down till the bullet sticks and then up half a grain. i will test it at that setting and if there is any sticking then i up it alittle again. every rifle is different so test yours.

thanks aj. you can't shoot a 45, 44-40, 44 magnum or 41 magnum out of a 410. don't do it unless you are wanting to chance losing something. there are 45's that will shoot 410's that is an animal of a different color. if you want to shoot a slug out of a 410, buy a 410 shell with a slug.

another thing you can do with a 410 is shoot cheap rat shot. a church member has chicken houses and had been over run with rats his last batch. he was going to the poor house in rat shot capsules. i took shells and cut them down to 45 colt length and loaded them with reduced loads. the shortened 410...

the 30-03 came out with the 220 grain bullet and a powder that wasn't conducive for long barrel life. they shortened the neck by .07, loaded it with a 150 grain spitzer and reformulated the powder. this info came from wiki...something. it sound close to what i remember. my mind is like a steel trap ...

i am running out of my factory loads for my 32spl. i am wanting to cast some because they are hard to find. speer is the only one i have located so far and they are expensive.

what are yall casting? i preferably would like to use gas checked bullets but i am not opposed to non gc
