Read an article this morning, Alliant among others was part of a sale to Czech company. The article stated the group is determined to continue to cater to American hunters/ shooting. Hopefully they will get on the ball .

The ' dope ' used on the skin was essentially thermite. The Mythbusters did an episode about it and tried a few different dope mixtures, some burned some didn't but the mix high in aluminum & iron oxide sure did.

My grandfather was there and saw it burn. He owned a trucking business, I think he was delivering gasoline or diesel. The following day he took my dad and aunt to see the remains.

You can still flyfish for panfish Bill! I only fished once for Kokanee, didn't catch any.
I started a 'guide net' form but never got back to it, larger hoop and longer handle. I suppose it could also serve as a boat net.

Yup. Heat from a lamp and linseed oil is how I've seen it done. Steam can also work- that's how I bend when I make trout nets.
