I restocked a VH 20 years ago, the gun was knocked down a set of steps. My stock wood/ semi inlet guy has since passed. Beautiful "toy," Gamekeeper. I can imagine the joy of feeding it paper-hulled 2 1/2-inch shells, and the wonderful smell of them upon extraction. Such a gun surely rewards a cautious and skillful approach -- hunting reduced to its simplest form. Seems a .410 single shot is in the same league as a 3...

Make sure its DRY , buddy of mine had oiled his RWS years ago and was a bit heavy with the lube. Next shot and like Blaine mentioned it turned into a little diesel engine -BOOM!

I call them flying groundhogs.

We used to shoot a lot of geese off a secluded farm pond. Had loads of fun doing it. Only problem with geese is they are so darned tough. Even tried making baloney with them.

When I was at Steve's shop I looked at 3 different 410s. I knew better than ask prices!

Many Moons ago I knew a butcher that swore by his 25-20 for dispatching steers,sheep & hogs. Said he had too many animals shrug off a 22 mag. Shh, I've used it for deer- worked just fine. And if i remember right at one point a world record deer was shot with a 25-20. No i sure wouldn't use it on pet...

I got to fondle a Parker Trap gun this past Sunday.
Also a Winchester 21.both were very nicely dressed with highly figured walnut. The Parker was re case hardened & blued.
I've handled 21's but never a Parker Trap gun. It just about fit me.

They do not have the sight I need but they supplied 2 phone numbers for individuals that apparently have selections of sights. I'll call them tomorrow and see where I get.

Looking for Lyman 55 RWS

I'm resurrecting an old Winchester Model 60A 22 rifle.
The rifle has the base of the sight but none of the important parts.
I have asked a few here but haven't had much luck so far.
If anyone knows of people or shops that deal in older Lyman stuff please supply info via PM.

So now I'm on a kick to resurrect this Winchester 60A. It has half of a receiver sight, Lyman 55RRS. It has also been D&T for a side mount.
Does anyone know of a source for receiver sights and or parts so I can get this little rifle shooting again?

Funny you say Herco, while I was cleaning I found a pound, the old cardboard can, it smells like powder, I'll pour a little off and see if it still burns before I try loading it.

I used to use 680 and then 1680 for my jacketed loads. Since I have a Savage I have loads for up to 85 Nosler BT's.
