How about a Frank Wesson Rhode Island Militia carbine like here, it has the barrel stud, rear sight might be just by the left hand thumb and the boss in front of the finger loop is visible. It is the sixth picture down. http://milpas.cc/rifles/ZFiles/Sporting%20Rifles/Frank%20Wesson/Longguns%20of%20...

March 28th, I was at the Imperial War Museum (Duxford) which is a little south of Cambridge in England. Spent the day and took lots of pictures. The F-86 was out on the tarmac and later in the afternoon it flew and did a practise demonstration. As it was a week day and not a show date, it was GREAT....

On first glance I was thinking a Lee single shot but it does not match the pictures that I found, nor does it match any rifles in de Haas "Single Shot Rifles and Actions" that I have. So I am stumped.

I see fox only once and awhile around here but not much. More coyote and dog packs.

That is too bad about the storm losses and damage. Farming is not easy to do today nor was it in the past either.

I was in England between the 20th and 30th of March and I saw a lot of snow! The news was showing lots of troubles in the north with buried sheep etc. How has the farmers made out digging out their flocks? It did not look too good as I was leaving.

Just back from England and I saw one of the pumps at either the Science Museum (London) or at the Imperial War Museum (Duxford). Surprising it is not as large as I would of thought it would of been. I first thought it was a power pak like for a tank, until I read the placard.

About 10000 of the 63's have the receiver cut for Tip off mounts. No D&T required in those cases.

Here is a picture of my grandfather, Mom's Dad, pre 1920. His hand has a M1903. He used it for rabbits as well, per mom's recollection.

To cut pigs of lead, I use a cutting torch. It just melts away into the mould placed under the cut line.
A bandsaw can work but you need lube and keep forcing the kerf open with a wedge. It is the way we started but now just use the torch. Faster and already in usable form.
