Re: Home Defense Decision - Want input, please
Streetstar, here in Ohio you would need to be very careful engaging anyone outside your house. We cannot even protect our outbuildings, cars, trucks, tractor, equipment, etc. Unless we would be fired upon we would be considered the aggressor if we shot, or shot at, someone. We are to call 911 and st...

Re: Less Recoil = EBR?
BlaineG, my ears do not seem to mind most .45Colt loads, but they seem sensitive to the .22WMR. Kinda like years ago when the lady of the house yelled at me in that high pitched voice! :o Now her voice is much lower and I seldom notice that she is yelling, which only leads to more yelling of course!...

Hobie, you are correct about being unpleasant indoors. My .45Colt levers should be just fine, especially with a Blackhawk as a companion. :) Maybe I have it covered already. And, 8.5 Unique under a 255gr LRNFP should keep both happy. I cannot imagine the frustration of trying to switch shoulders at ...

Less Recoil = EBR?
I was reading the article Panzercat wrote about the 92 yo man using a .22 rifle to protect himself, and the lack of recoil with the .22LR. Being old fashioned I never wanted an EBR. Always told myself that my lever guns, Ak, SKS, M-N M44, etc. will work just fine. I still believe these are very capa...

For a 6 shot revolver maybe 2 snake loads. For a 5 shot revolver only 1 snake load. I would think there are much better choices than round nose .38s. I use 3.5 BE with 158 HPs in my SP101. 158 LSWC should work as well. Just shot a few HPs this morning. Two of those and 2 158 LSWC over 14.0-14.5 2400...

Ji, nice and handy little fella. So far I really like the one I have. Since all the parts go into individual slots in the carry bag, and are protected, I can throw a soft box, or 2 or 3, of .22s and butt cuff or ammo wallet of .410s in there and be good to go.
