Asked my BIL a retired AF mechanic working at Chicago's O'Hare, about the Chicago violence. He said most all the shootings occur on the South Side :roll: unsurprising. Too bad, as cities GO, Chicago is a pretty fun place to visit.

WM I feel like you about baseball, it was and is my favorite. Sports are great for kids, I believe in it for many reasons. I have volunteered for the local park committee for 7 years, to promote baseball, soccer and rodeo for area youth. We also provide fund raisers for the American Legion.

Jim I recall you mentioning seeing javelina around Austin area a while back. I've never seen any east of Sonora Tx, though I've not hunted them in many years. Used to see them a lot on a big ranch across the I 10 from the Caverns. What is the furthest east of Sonora you have seen them?

A neighbor was very ill in the hospital, and was then released. His wife posted on "social media" that he had to return for treatment over the weekend. Opertunivores then had the all clear to remove his valuables, including his gun collection.

Just set up my stuff at my shooting bench, and watched as the wind kicked up to 35-40 MPH 3 :shock: I laughed pretty hard and put it back into the truck. I have a low spot out of the wind to shoot pistols this evening, the wind will often die down at sundown. Ah, West Texas! :D

Saw a real clean looking model 8 in 30Rem for 450 3 years ago in central Texas. I've thought on occasion that I should not have left it there, even though I am a dedicated lever hunter.

6pt you are welcome. My own increasing age led to the use of the short rope. :D I think another rope to cinch the head tightly towards the knees would work even better, there is a lot of flop in the neck/head.

I was out at the place today, went by the workshop to get a pic of the setup, no body home. As I recall, the oil receptacle is about a gallon metal can a foot or two above and to the side aways from bottom barrel with a metal line about 3/16 diameter, with an inline shutoff valve to adjust the drip....

6pt I have found that a 2 foot rope used to tie a deers 4 knees together tightly takes most the flop out of them. Then I can grab the tail and scruff of the neck or antler and toss them in the truck by myself. That little rope is handy, youd be surprised how well it works.

My cuzbro has one in his big metal A frame tractor shop. He has an oil drip on it and that 2 barrel stove works real nice in bad weather. With the back doors open it makes a nice pistol range when too nasty for being outside.

Nice score 6pt!! A 32" Belgium Broadway is the finest thing of its kind, hunting a big open field with short groundcover for Dove. This gun twists my knobs all the way to 11, the thought of hunting with it makes me want to dance a jig. I'd like to have one just like it with 26" skeet barrels for hun...
