In 1964 I was working in west virginna treating old utility poles. I was following the line through the woods in a remote area. A probable moonshinner that looked like the guy in deliverance met me at a fence with 94 winchester and told me that was far as I was going. I didnt argue the point.

Through the years unique has always been my mainstay. It seems to give factory standard ballistics in all pistol calibers. If I had only one powder choice in handguns it would have to be unique. I havent read all the posts, but cimmeron arms has uberti make them one, I have the short barreled thunderer. It had the same grip as the old colt lighting and thunder. I belive I read that out of the many caliber or cartridges available in the colt saa, it was 3rd, .45, 44 WCF, then .38 WCF. Also in winchesters I belive close to the same. They were popular!

Not my story, but a good friend of mine. When he was a teenager in lousianna durring world war 11, they lived in a area where army aircore practiced airbatics. A pilot evidently lost his pen in a manuever and it landed on their lawn. There was a name of captain,- someone on it. He still has it.

This is a 1892 winchester carbine in 44 WCF made in 1903. Serial # 269815. When I bought it about 30 years ago I was told it came off a reservation in the Dakotas. That appears to be a winchester 66. The predicesser to it is the hennry. The hennry didnt have a loading gate nor the wood forearm. I bought a winchester 94 when I was 15 in 1956. I put a williams foolproof and a pad on it then. I sighted it in at the time, and to this day it is accuarte and spot on for me. I havent had to readjust the sights in 53 years.
