Re: You can only have one and only one! Which
Well just like most of us here, my head hurts just thinking about this. As comforting as a 1911 Colt would be in the small of my back, I think that I'm going to choose my custom take down Marlin in .45-70. Ammo should be available in just about any hardware store in the country, and I can use .410 s...

Re: stainless steel saddle ring
Nice!! Who did the take down work? And where did that nifty bag come from? I've been wanting to have my 94P / .44 mag done and I think you just pushed me over the edge. :D jb 8) Lee Hadaway did the work, he is in Trinity Colorado. thearmsroom.com. The case is custom made by a saddlemaker down there...

Re: stainless steel saddle ring
What can I say, I just love the look of a saddle ring carbine. I have 7 Winchester SRCs. However I do appreciate your opinion, and thanks for the compliments.

Re: Chopping a ported guide gun
I like the porting enough that I cut my guide guns to 16.1", and had them ported. These sawed off cannons need all the help they can get. I think the 16" guns handle great, but then I have quite a few Winchester Trappers so maybe I am just used to these litle carbines.

Re: stainless steel saddle ring
Welcome, and FWIW, since your SS rifle has a black buttpad, IMHO a black (blued) saddle ring would look just fine, w/o any fuss. . That is a thought. I'm sending off one tom. morning for hard chrome, and the other blued one is being installed right now on the ss one, so I will be able to see it bot...

Re: Shooters & Safe-Queens
I tell you that I am very tempted to shoot my John Wayne 100 Year Commerative 1892 Winchester in .44-40, but I have not as of yet. I also have the John Wayne 94 in .32-40. In all I have 4 Commemorative Winchesters that have not been shot. However... there are 7 other Winchesters in my safe that are ...

Re: stainless steel saddle ring
Well I may go the route of having a saddle ring hard chrome plated at Metaloy. They think that it may be more silver than my blasted ss, but I can probably either live with it, or maybe be able to fo it somehow to match a bit better.

Re: stainless steel saddle ring
Welcome to the forum...! If all else fails, I've seen stainless 'rings' at the local Ace Hardware, of the same size as most 'saddle rings', and I think they make the 'U' shaped cable clamps in stainless steel, and the smaller 1/4" cable sized ones could work; you'd have to shape/peen them as a...

Re: Picked up a Trapper
Nice, I love Trappers. I have a matching set with big loop levers installed. .357 Mag, .44 Mag, .45 LC, and I have now added a .30-30. And yes, I know that I need one in .32 special. Did I mention that I love Trappers. I have 11 Winchesters in total.

stainless steel saddle ring
Hey guys, first post. I've got a custom takedown Marlin in ss, and I am looking desperately for a ss saddle ring and stud set for it. Anybody have any good ideas? Thanks
