The 30-30's "magic bullet"

I have studied and used the 35 Remington a great deal. It's clear to me that the 200 grain Core-Lokt is a nearly "magical" bullet when loaded at typical 35 Remington velocities. It produces an excellent combination of expansion and penetration, and it's very accurate in my rifle. If I had ...

HUNTING RANGE: HOW FAR CAN YOU EXPECT TO SHOOT?

Hey folks. I know distances vary. I've hunted heavily wooded areas in which a 40 yard shot was max, but I've also hunted the edges of fields where shots can be 200+. I guess my question really is: In your favorite hunting areas, how far are MOST animals (deer/elk/moose) when you see them clearly and...

If I don't have the means and care enough about somebody to just "give" them the money, then I probably shouldn't "loan" it to them either. There's no sense in inviting potential resentments. Just say "no".

According to my experience and the info I read in the link posted by "1886", the 200 grain Core-Lokt leaving at 2000-2200 fps delivers the most optimum combination of penetration and expansion from the muzzle out to 200 yards that I can imagine is possible. It's a nearly magical, once-in-a...
