Re: Gunslick graphite grease
...I was give a product call Dry Slide in Iraq that was a spray of graphite and moly in a liquid that evaporated and left a dry film that would not attract dust. I have some left that I still use that is great. I've heard good things about this, starting with a gunsmithing article in Rifle Mag. by ...

...Same as Lee's little tubes of white case lube, cleans up with water is really wire pulling lube. They buy it by the barrel, then put it into the little tubes. I used to work in a testing facility and found this out... Re Lee Alox Lube, I did a little research on this a couple of years ago and fo...

Re: Here's A Great Read For All You Armchair Tiger Hunters
Great question. I don't know abiut those two but I do know where Jim Corbett's .450/400 double rifle is. Elmer Keith had procured that rifle and it is in his museum. Here's an interesting link. http://www.rugerforum.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=72052&highlight=&sid=e84327b5a0474315a68f5c565c37...

Re: Here's A Great Read For All You Armchair Tiger Hunters
I first read this book when I was a teenager, many moons ago. It's a real thriller! Here it is, online and available for everyone: http://www.archive.org/details/maneatersofkumao029903mbp How Jim Corbett survived to old age is simply a miracle! :o I just rediscovered my copy of this and re-read it ...

Re: An Illuminated Reticle Scope... on a Levergun?!
Here's the setup on my Marlin 1894. http://members.shaw.ca/josquin/44%20mag%20test/Marlin%201894.jpg I already had a Williams 5D on the back and a XS-type front sight (made from one of Brownells generic "oversize" sights from Allan Foundry) with a Scotchlite reflective strip on it. The Sur...

...Did you know that in California lead wheel weights fly off of wheels and bury themselves on the dirt along the side of the road. They then work their way down to the water table and poison everybody within 100 miles. Or at least thats what the gov't tells us. ... But in California EVERYTHING cau...

Re: Hearing protection question
I tried these a few years ago (with power tools) and wasn't impresssed. As I recall, I found they didn't stay in place if I moved around at all; they were very light and the headband wasn't particularly effective. I also was very sceptical of the 31 db NRR; this is better than the Peltor H-10, a ser...

Re: Burris FASTFIRE II ™ RED DOT REFLEX SIGHT
I just got one of these for my 1894, which I also have set up with a Surefire G2 mounted on the mag. tube as we have occasional bear and coyote problems here and it may get used at night. Mine has the Picatinny/Weaver mount, which sets it a tad high but its OK. I may try and make a mounting plate as...
