I think I was 13 or 14. My one foray into flies/bugs/streamers was a very small vise that held a very small C-Clamp that held the hooks. Nothing very small and mostly fugly. Mostly yarn,deer hair and parakeet feathers. :lol: I did catch lots of small bass and bluegills, though...

If they would make those in 20ga I'd snap one up. Go get a Winchester Model 12. The 20's are still affordable and one of the best shotguns ever made. You're experience might be different, but my early 70s Marlin 1894 didn't like the COL and I had to seat 300 grain hardcast pretty deep...deep enough to cut back on powder at bit. something like a 11/16" steel bearing ball might work....not as expensive as you might think.....i buy various sizes from ebay to use in smoothbore muzzleloaders...... Another idea would be to upgrade the factory sights on my rifles. Nothing with batteries, for the most part.
Maybe a really good, accurate, quiet air rifle.
A couple thousand CB Longs or other stealth ammo for my 22s...I already have thousands of 22 LR rounds of various kinds.

My only 45-70 these days (the recoil was killin' me) is a 12lb Shiloh Sharps, so I'm not too worried about what I shoot in it.
But, I picked up a 8lb jug of Red Dot a couple years ago. It will be useful to me, or someone else in future. 8)
