1911 Commercial Colt Super 38 (manufactured 1951) that someone accurized and added target sights to. That gun could shoot the heck out of Walmart Winchester white box ammo with the original barrel. Got in a tight spot and it went to pay bills.

I just can't profit from a friend but it's fun to see what my hunting buddies will come up with to trade; just because I show up in camp with something different most years they think I trade a lot. My 2 closest friends can have anything I've got just by asking, but I agree with Terry. There'd be bo...

Almost 20 years ago I bought a steel receiver 358 with red dot, stocks stripped and hand rubbed with a pad added that shot boringly small groups off hand. Convinced myself that something else would be better. Oh the money that would have been saved if I'd just kept it.

Package arrived from Andy Horvath this morning. 20170314_104216.JPG 20170316_194930(1).JPG These were abused and/or modified when I picked them up. Andy did a brushed blue finish due to the pitting and thinned the trigger guard in the trigger finger side right/left. Ivory micarta grips. 45colt.

I remember Grandma's was in the back yard, not the best for her in the winter, and I got in trouble once for shooting her clothes pins off of the line with my BB gun. Should add that it wasn't serious trouble, she was the hunter in her family growing up and could out shoot the rest of us.

Re: What's a good price on 71 winchester receiver

Thanks Guys, it's Winchester from the 1940's, been reblued and needs locking lugs, loading gate, and few more things. I probably should just sell the barrel and get Mike Hunter to make a new barrel set for my old takedown 86. That would get me the configuration I want and top quality work too. Terry

Guys, looking at that 71 receiver on the gun auction site to hang a new 50-110 barrel from. Is $450 too much considering I'd still have to round up some parts?

That's Hornady's abbreviation for Flex Tip bullets. Soft rubber pointed tips allow you to load them in mag tubes and get better ballistics... in theory anyway.
