Killing Formulas / How much is enough?
Hey folks, I'm planning on picking up a Ruger BH in .41 mag in a month or so. I reload and plan on working up some loads for whitetail and hogs. However, I keep wondering, "How much is enough"? I've read through and tried out numerous killing formulas only to be told that they're imperfect...

Hey Folks, I've been thinking this may be the caliber to get for deer / hog hunting and woods carry. The Ruger BH in 6 1/2" looks pretty sweet and just right for Maryland Deer hunting laws. I'm drawn to this caliber because it seems to be just right in terms of power, recoil, and trajectory. Al...

Hey Folks,
I've been contemplating whether or not to buy a Ruger Blackhawk but am unsure if I like the grips. I love the design but some of the models' grips seem a bit small for my large hands. Does anyone have experience with any aftermarket Blackhawk grips?

Hi folks,
After a recent hog hunt, I realized how nice it would be to have a Ruger BH for hunting and target shooting. I thought about a .357 because I have an H&R Trapper in that caliber, but the bigger bores call to me. I reload too. What say ye?

My father and I are going pig hunting in TX next month and I'm wondering about loads. Most likely the pigs will be 100lbs or under and I want to use my .30-30. Which of the above 170gr loads would be better? I'll be reloading for either one.

Sorry guys. In know that sounds maybe vague and or naive. I've been reading in various articles here and elsewhere stating that a heavily loaded .44 mag carbine carries more energy to the target @ 100 yds than a .30-30 ( and it's wider and heavier ). Also I've been reading about the "Taylor Kno...

Hey All, Again I've been poking around on the internet crunching numbers and I've noticed that ( at least with 100 yds or so ) a .44 mag carbine seems to have more killing power than a .30-30. Hi all,
I've been reading that because Marlin has a 1:38 twist on their 1894 in .44 mag, you can't shoot bullets over 270 gr. and expect decent accuracy. I'd love to have one and load it up w/ heavy bullets ( 325 gr. ) for hunting, but am now unsure if that would work. Any thoughts?
