My favorite is the 50/90 in my treasured SHILOH SHARPS...the BIG 50.

There was a list on SASS wire awhile back on VAQUERO serial numbers. It indicates yours was made in 1999. My old Appaloosa gelding was 31 when he had a massive heart attack and had to be put down. The Appaloosa mare was 32 and had just "wore out her body," blind and "poor" despite an excellent vet and grain twice a day. The last one left is her half arab son...he'll be 32 next April....

My little 1894 Marlins (three 44s and one 357) feed almost any bullet noses. The only thing I haven't had much success with is a LBT 432 300 WFN in the 44s. Probably why I got it cheap at the Quigley rifle shoot in Montana awhile back. The RANCH DOG 432 265 feeds well in the 44s, as do various LYMAN...

I'd try the taper crimp after seating the bullet as close as possible to a known good feeding over-all length.
