Go ahead and get that williams foolproof. I bought this 94 new in 1958. I had the fp put on early. It is accurate, I never had to readjust it, I benched it last year and it was still spot on. Mine is 30-40 and dates 1931. The rear sight was missing when I bought it, but a friend had a old "buffington" that we mounted without drilling any new holes. The handguard wont fit over the sight. The gun shoots well.

Just give up and wear suspenders attached to your belt! Get "Perrys". They have fine plastic clips that wont tear up your furniture and truck seat. Works for me!

Rimfire mcnutjob: Trivila: I once had a new ruger hawkeye in .256, it left to help pay my divorice lawyer. I fell in love with the cartridge. Later I had a martini made up in 256. That went too. I do have a T/C barrel in one. I have seen a 92 converted to .256. It is a honey!

If it turns out that the bore is hopeless, I would get it bored out to .357. I did that once to a shotout 25-20 92. Also you could get it resleeved to whatever. I always wanted one in 256 win mag. I dont really know if that would be that much better than 25-20 though. Anybody know?

The 92 was blue. I would get blue, case harden octagon barrel short rifle. Thats just my taste. Unless you really need stainless in the field in your climate as a real needed feature, I wouldnt go stainless. It is so wrong as a replica! Howsomever its your money!

Here is my old .32 win colt. It is a old poor refinished colt, however it shoots just great. I have faux ivory on it. The gun is very heavy compared to my other colts in .44 special and .45 colt. Sometimes I go concealed with a belt gun, really not often. When I do I wear the suspenders under my untucked shirt and over a t-shirt. But you want to give yourself a little "lead" time before you go to the bathroom or you may find yourself in a mess!

I do have one made in 1931. I bought it about 40 years ago. It didnt have the rear sight and a friend put on this buffington sight. The handguard wont fit over it. It is in .30 army. (30-40).

I bought those grips a long time ago for I think $60s at a gun show. I cant find a name on them but they are faux ivory. It was a dealer that had many more to fit other guns too.

You could try putting a pad on the back like these I just bought. It would do four more things. It would cushion recoil, give a longer length of pull, protect the butt, and keep your leather from slipping forward.

You cant tell for sure about looks. This morning I was watching a movie made in 1949 with audie murphy. That is about 4 years after his war actions. I swear he looked like a small 14 year old boy! He was born in 1925 so was 24 years old!
