Re: Pistol Caliber Lever Action Carbine?
I think El Mac is right on the money there. I would certainly want to at least try one out. As much as I like the traditional levergun style, I wouldn't even mind a levergun that used a 1911 magazine, if that ensured reliable feeding. It would look kinda funny, but if it made for a good, reliable, h...

Re: Might Move To England
Go for it.
Leave the rifles at home with a friend if you must.
Or, start the paperwork, expect delays, join a club and receive them when all the hurdles are cleared.
The experience will be worth it to you and yours.
2 leverguns and 1 shotgun vs. 5 years of life experience.
No contest.

Win 1892 Against My Marlin 1894
I have a Marlin 1894 in .44 cal.
Just love it.
Has anyone tried the new (?) 1892 on Winchester's website ?
Gorgeous rifle, but how are the new 1892s since Winchester came back ?
Thanks,
Seagoing

Re: Will a snow bank stop a bullet?
Well I don't know about a snowbank, but here's what they said in my favorite movie.
" So a plank wall won't stop a bullet from a buffalo gun, but a dentist will. "
... And that's why Jake was on the run from the law in "Lonesome Dove".

Thanks, that's what I thought.
I figure the ammo makers keep a large safety margin.

Factory Load That's Too Hot For Marlin 1894 in .44 ?
Has anyone ever heard of any factory load that is too hot for a modern Marlin 1894 in 44 cal ? I read somewhere where a guy was saying that the 180-gr. round shouldn't be used in the rifle because the pressure built up to an excessive level. He was saying that this round was designed for a pistol, b...
