I normally wouldn't want a revolver barrel any longer than 6" with the one exception being the Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum. That beast just flat out shoots and the accuracy always brings a smile to my face. You gotta grip that sucker good, so the extra length and weight seem just about right ...
