you got stuff in the hole not allowing the rod to fully close blocking the flow of lead.....Running the pot low is one of the primary causes of this, half a pot of fluxed lead keeping impurities out of the pot should resolve the issue...................heat the pot up..........pull the rod.............

Welcome to the club..................the 348 is a slam dunk Elk and Moose rifle and have dropped 2 elk with mine as magnum like as you would ever want........these shoot cast bullets extremely well so it does not have to be a safe queen but you can shoot the hell out of it with no wear and tear........

I have been packing a 624 Smith guiding both fishing and hunting for just over 25 years now and have shot a couple deer with it, probably 40 rattle snakes, a bunch of bunnies and p-dogs, 31 rough and franklin grouse and a bunck of blue grouse with it and have had NO problems or issues with it......B...

NEXT STEP...........Get a Merit apature peep so you can dial in the size hole size best suited for light and eye conditions......makes a great improvement over a one size hole and buying 6 different peep sights in different size holes really is just a waste of money as the Merit will cover the whole...
