Re: Solar total eclipse. . . anyone BTDT...?
I went to North Dakota in Feb 1979 with a college science class to observe the total eclipse then. It was a wonderful experience. Prior to totality the birds started chirping like they were going to sleep in the evening. During the period of totality, it was very cool and erie looking. It was dark e...

Scoping a Levergun and I am back.
Hello everyone. I have not been on the forum since last August. First I caught covid and it very nearly killed me. The doctors did not expect me to make it as I developed many embolisms in my lungs. They told me that if I had waited another couple of hours to get to the hospital that I would have pe...

What is wrong with some people?
Saturday, at the gun range I was working at, a guy and some of his friends came to the range. The guy brought a real nice brass Henry .45-70 decked with a leather sling and a leather ammo holder on the stock. He brought the gun to the range fully loaded and a round chambered. Then admits he had not ...

Here is the long and short of it IMHO: First, yes I love semi auto .22's, but all I that I have now are limited or designed to function .22 long rifle hi velocity rounds only. Second, My lever action repeaters and single shots are much more versatile though. They can handle everything from .22 short...

Pitchy I think it is time for you to trade in your conestoga wagon and upgrade to a modern Model T pickup. You need to stay ahead of those hostiles you have been fighting in your area in MN. :) Model T pickup? I was thinking something a bit more . . . . . . . . . substantial. https://i.imgur.com/29...

I use to drive up 25 to 80 and then west to Cali when we'd visit all the outlaws who still lived there. I've never understood the claim the Germans nearly won the war. As I read the history books, it wasn't even close. At Moscow, they had reached the end of their tether. They had neither the manpower nor the resources to go further. The Russians alone turned them, not the whole world. In late '41 whe...

Russians are pretty much like the Polish...25 watt light bulbs. I don't think that a fair assessment. The German general staff knew Germany couldn't win against the Russians. Logistics alone showed that. Hitler believed Russia was ripe to collapse politically, and he lost that gamble. One thing whi...
