SFRanger7GP,
I know you want to shoot 44 Specials in the 92, but just to set your mind at ease about its accuracy try loading that bullet in a 44 Mag case and maybe bump the charge one grain. Some rifles don't like a long bullet jump. My Marlin 44 doesn't.

Re: OT, kinda but not. Need some ideas for my powder measure
Joe,
The hopper on my RCBS measure got a little loose after taking it on and off a few times. It is a press fit. I put a wrap of tape around the pertinent area, trimmed the excess, and pressed it back together. Can't see the tape and it holds.

Wheel weights are the most versatile, and used to be the easiest to find. Now the big tire companies are required to send their old weights to the new weight supplier, and you can't pry them out of their hands for love or money. Small shops can still be dealt with, but get 'em while you can. WWs wor...

I never tried the wet paper trick. I usually use a pure lead round ball from my C&B revolver. Somewhere around .451-.457" works. Tap it in and tap it out.

Horsesoldier03, The Marlin 1894s in 44 Mag. tend to have fairly large barrel (groove) diameters. Mine is .432". If your cast bullet is smaller than this, and yours is, you're going to get leading from the gas leaking around the bullet. The best fix is to use proper size bullets, or .433" i...

The Marlin 1894 in .357 Mag. will choke if you try and stuff if full of flush seated or button nose wadcutters. You have to take it apart to get it unjammed. It's worse than the "Marlin Jam." Ed Harris said they will work as a sort-of two-shooter. Load a wadcutter in the gate, cycle it int...

HPT,
The nose of the #375248 doesn't really amount to anything, as it tapers right away, i.e. it's not a bore-ride nose. Mine is .356" right in front of the front band. The body casts .378" from wheel weights. Hope this helps.

A little trick for the lead-shot set screws. Loosen the set screw until it sticks out a little, then smack it with a plastic or rawhide hammer. The lead comes loose from the threads and you can turn the ring freely.
