A bolt action in .30 caliber would be a great choice, either 30-06 or .308. I went with the .308 so I could shoot F Class, as well, but that's only punching paper. For a dedicated hunting rifle the 30-06 is hard to beat.

I'd go with all NATO spec calibers: 1. 5.56 semi auto (e.g., ar-15) 2. .308 bolt action rifle (e.g., remington 700) 3. 9mm handgun (e.g., Sig or Beretta) 4. 12 gauge shotgun (e.g., remington 870) Optional (if you can't afford a lot of ammo): 5. good .22 pistol (e.g., ruger) for practice, small game....
