I have a police trade in S&W 5903, the aluminum frame, high capacity model. A new recoil and magazine spring and now it's a keeper. For me, it's a belt holster carry piece.

My military duty was some 8 years behind me. On that date in 1975, I had just gotten remarried, relocated to Roswell, NM and adjusting to the experience of new family, new job and new environs. It was a trying, yet exhilarating time for sure. Yeah, time does fly.

Set in the early 1950's, Something of Value is my favorite Ruark novel. A tale of the Mau-Mau uprising in the Congo. A great and grizzly read, and a vivid window view of those times in colonial Africa.
