Re: Are you alone for the holidays?

Generous gesture for the Holidays. I am lucky to have a nearby sister and some family visiting after Christmas.... otherwise it's just me. I am sure there is someone who this is a real blessing for.

I wish everyone a fine Holiday season and blessings for your kindness.

Re: SoCal gunsmith wanted

Wow - Handy info as I live right here in LA

you rekon those guys can cut a dovetail if I want to extend the tube on 1895G 45/70 to a full length tube?

not sure I would consider doing it myself - and shipping my gun allover the place just makes it cost twice as much.

thanks

Re: .45 Colt H&R Carbines for $229 at CDNN

Has anyone seen one of these converted to a .454 Casull or .460 S&W; or is that a "Theory".

seems like it would work, but just wondering.

does seem like a fun thing to purchase even if kept as a .45LC.

new winchester Levers -- question

was looking at the website http://www.winchesterguns.com/products/catalog/category.asp?family=022C and just curious - why isn't the takedown trapper offered in 44 mag. seems like it would be very easy to offer it in that - most of the oether versions are offered in several chamberings. Seems like it...

Re: LEVERGUNS S. Africa SAFARI 2010

This looks awesome. The $2400.oo covers the air fare & 3 animas right? that also covers the cost of bringing back the skull/horns right? Did I read that right? Does that also cover the cost of bringing back the skins? For example If I were able to go I'd want to have all "European" sty...

I really appreciate all the information. It seems like there are more Hi grade 1886 brownings for sale than the standard grade. Does anyone hunt with a Hi grade. If I were to get a Hi grade I would def hunt with it, is that crazy?

45-70 questions - trying to decide what to get...

I would love to hear some advice on getting a 45-70. I want one to shoot and hunt with. I am interested in a lever gun and like the 1886, as far as I know doing a little research. so basically I think I am interested in the Winchester and Browning should I consider any others? (miroku or something I...

how can I get some data from a serial # for a Browning 1886?

is there a website that tells me when a gun was made based on the serial #?

I think there are only two production runs anyway - but its a Browning 1886 45-70, 1 0f 3000 production.

thanks

Thanks, awesome pictures, and info. I get bogged down searching, 1886 brings up lots of guns in diff models, and I know "Browning" designed the old Winchester 1886 too. Just gets confusing, that's why I'm on here trying to learn it up. Thanks I would love to have one of those Brownings. No...

Did Browning ever produce a "modern" lever action in 45-70? The single shot 45-70s are beautiful. How do they shoot?
