Re: Gamekeeper

Hi -- I bought two big knives this past year -- a Ka-Bar Becker BK-10 and a Gerber Strongarm, hadn't owned a fixed blade for a long time. The Strongarm goes with me on patrol, and the BK-10 I bought for camping/hunting... :)

Re: REMINGTON 870: The rise and fall of an American icon

I transitioned from a Remington 870 Police Magnum (870P) to a Benelli Super-Nova Tactical (see photo). My LE Agency has been buying Mossberg 590's to replace old 870's. I personally went to the Benelli because I lost confidence in the Freedom Group Remington 870 anything... :) 20145 SuperNova Tac RS...

Re: S&W 64-5

JOG--the 64-5 is a great choice -- I just bought a S&W Model 10-5 (2" barrel, square but) on Saturday from a retired LEO friend, it was made somewhere between 1968-1970. He acquired it from another retired LEO in the late 80's. It has some honest wear, but the lock-up is tight, no end shake. I was ...

Re: I want a lever gun, I think in .357

I own two Marlin 1894c's, had a Henry 357...the .357 levergun is a very good platform for a lot of uses. I knew a State Police Officer that had a Marlin 1894c as his patrol rifle, he used it all the way to his retirement (2009)... Can't find a Marlin, look for a Henry, both good choices... :)

The machinery you use is not as important as your skill with it.

Learn to run what you have.
Learn to run it blindfolded.
Learn to run it without having to think "how" ...

I must be NUTS

I had not carried a 5-shot snub (a rotary single-stack) as a BUG/EDC for the last several years--maybe 6 or 7 years, didn't even own one (got caught up in the sub-compact 9mm auto vortex). Recently tried the S&W M&P Shield (great choice) but sent it down the road with my Glock 43X (another great cho...

S&W M&P Shield 2.0

I've tried a bunch of different small 9mm and 5-shot revolvers for a BUG (back-up-gun) and possible EDC over the last 12-years (Walther PPS M2, Sig 365, Glock 43, Glock 43X). I started life with a S&W 642 and a Glock 26/27, but over the last couple of years the G-26 isn't working for me. The S&W 642...
