RANGE REPORT....Not too good! The lead bullets that came with the rifle might not fit the bore properly and keyhole at lower velocity. With enough powder they expand enough to be marginally accurate.....3-5" at 50 yds Jacketed bullets shoot great! An inch +/- at 50 yds and hitting 12" X 12...

I took that Lyman 1878 to the range yesterday........Once again I hate Lyman tang sights. No windage adjustment, no elevation clicks or other markings. Very hard to adjust accurately. Had a hard time even getting on paper. Pulled that sight off and installed a far superior Marbles.....Windage adjust...

Yes, VERY accurate at 25 yds with iron sights, two handed, unsupported hold. First three shots were well under an inch....Then the recoil got to me and the group opened up. I want to hunt with it in the fall. I will only need one shot! Hopefully....

Yup...I recently sold a S&W Mountain Gun in 44mag. A real hand stinger!....But I kept my Freedom Arms Casull in 454Casull.....Talk about a BOOMER!Nothing wrong with it, I just like the big boomers.

The "True" heavy barrel A1 Sako had a great adjustable trigger with holes through the trigger guard to access the adjustments. Does your rifle offer this?

I had a whole collection of A1 Sakos......22PPC, 6PPC, 222 and 223.....All I have left is the 6PPC.....Fantastic accurate rifles all of them. The 6PPC would hold court with my custom benchrest rifles.

Well...It kinda has a lever on the top!

Thanks for the kind words..... This shotgun was so far off with everything set neutral that it needed to be bent to simply get it back to 50/50. With the comb all the way up (3/4”). It was ungainly and still only shot 40/60. Bending or custom, offset, choke tubes was the only way to go. Yes, slammin...

Took the butt plate off th3 Sharps to da6 to see if it had a serial number. No serial number but someone, long ago, put a leaf under th3 butt plate. No way it could have gotten in ther3 on its own. Great book. I have a well read copy. Been a Sharps fan for years. I have a 74 and a 75. Both reproductions. 45-70 and 38-55 respectively. I ordered three more Sharps books from Amazon. Now need a rainy day to read them.
