Although I sold it, after a very short break-in period, about 20rds, I never had any trouble shooting my 16" BO with a carbine length gas system with subsonic ammo. The buddy that bought it shoot subs in it all the time and he doesn't even own a can. I think the 300 Blackout is a fine cartridge...

Glad you came out of it okay. Situational awareness often prevents problems before they start, that a posture that you're not going to be an easy mark. Even when I'm teaching or shooting at the privately owned range I use most of the time I keep a loaded mag of "duty" ammo in my left rear ...

Thanks guys. Anthony's had his hearing tested several times, been tested for autism, and several other types of test. Thinking about a 'go-to' gun, a 200 yd. hunting rifle, and something extremely quick to get into play from a vehicle. My idea is an AR in 300 Blackout, with a quick detachable barrel, 8.5" and maybe a second quick detachable 16". Top it with a Leupold 1-4X. thinking about 125-200 bullets....
