I currently own four M1 Rifles and one M1A. I don't think the M1A was out all last year, but I take one of the M1 Rifles to the range almost every outing. M1A is a great weapon, but there's something intangible about the M1 Rifle that compels me to take one to the range time and again.

The front sight dovetail on one of my Rossi 92s was too wide for a standard front sight post, so I just painted the brass bead white using appliance white touch-up paint. Works just like an ivory bead for me.

I have a few khukris purchased from HI and they are works or art compared to the garbage knives from IMA. I've stopped using a traditional machete for clearing brush and exclusively use an HI khukri because it works so much faster.

My mild load for 45-70 for the past 30+ years has been 13.5 gr of Unique under a 400 gr cast bullet. Remarkably accurate, no recoil, and significantly reduced report, yet still enough juice to take a whitetail.

13 to 13.5 gr of Unique under a 400 gr cast bullet is what I use in my Pedersoli Sharps, two H&R repro Trapdoors, and my Marlin Cowboy. From bags on the bench, I've made 1.5" groups with that load and bullet.

Olyinaz nailed it.

The secondary bayo lug IS a dead giveaway for Spanish 43 Mausers, as is the rectangular plate inletted in the left side of the butt for the rear sling mount. That plate is kept in place by a pin in the stock that's hidden by the buttplate.
