Re: OT or is it? Safety! Death at CO range
That range has been notorious for having a bunch of crazies shoot there. Some friends who live down by it wouldn't even consider going there because of the unsafe practices they witnessed by those who frequented it.

New Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Spl
Was at the range yesterday and a friend shows me his brand new Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Spl. Evidently Ruger decided to make a special run of them in 44 Special caliber with only 1,000ea 4 5/8" and 1,000ea 5 1/2 barrels because of consumer demand for the smaller framed platform. He has 2 Ruger Sup...

Everyone raves about the Marlin's accuracy, however, even though I sold off my 39As, I still have a Model 60 with the same 'micro-grove' rifling that is very accurate. However, I don't see it being any more accurate than my plain old Henry. More accurate than my 1973 Ruger 10/22s, certainly, but not...

Re: Does anyone know anything about this product?
Looks to me like its a $1,200 solution to a $250 problem. I shoot a lot through my ARs but with chrome lined barrels and careful cleaning, I've got 14k rounds through one with only slight accuracy issues. Let's see, 14 times $84 equals $1,176!!! I can get a brand new barrel installed for 1/4 that pr...

I've had two 39As in my time and sold both (at a nice profit) to friends that really like them. Both sales were because I just didn't like the clunky feel and the gritty, stiff action. One was new and one was well used but the action was still not comfortable to my tastes. In fact, the 39A put me of...

In truth, each of our definitions' of 'handy' may depend in part upon what part of the country we live in. Back East in places like KY, TN, or PA, one needs a 'handy,' short barreled dear rifle that's fast handling because of the short range and/or brush shooting so common back there. That also mean...

If that is an 1986 DOM Uberti ask if it's the two position base pin safety or if it is the earlier "D" cam style gun. The two position safety is more desirable over the "D" cam. The "D" cam guns are more likely to go out of time. This was because the bolt fingers were ...

Well, I've got to admit that the small aperture in the tang sight is what makes it possible for me. Without it I'd only see the front sight as a blur. Another way to look at the tang sight is that it was the 'everymans' equivalent of a scope sight back in the 1800s. A good shooter could test the cap...
